Kawauchi

I moved to Tokyo in April. Akita is far away, now, so it's hard to visit often. This year I made it up there four times: once for Sports Day at Chokai JHS, a second time during summer vacation when my karate teacher and I drove the Sea of Japan seashore highway from Osaka up to the north country, a third time for Todd's wedding in the fall, and finally for the my former elementary school's last festival.

A fall trip to Chokai. Kawauchi Elementary School celebrated its final School Festival. Next year, the school will close and merge with Jinego Elementary School and Hitane Elementary School. The new school is being built next to the junior high school and will be called Chokai Elementary School.
